Project 01

Coordinated development of strategies

The overall objective of the module is the development and testing of a methodology for the systematic formulation and implementation of strategies for the adaptation to climate change in a transdisciplinary network. The procedures on the different network levels follow an action research approach. The common process is designed with different phases such as planning, implementation as well as synthesis and evaluation. On the level of all thematic modules the development and proving of innovative measures and instruments is fostered by the support of transdisciplinary cooperation as well as the common planning and implementation processes.

The action oriented methodical approach is supplemented by empirical research such as:

  • discourse analysis on adaptation to climate change on EU-, federal and regional level,

  • study on risk perception and handling of uncertainties in the transdisciplinary network and

  • analysis of political institutions and instruments and their relevance for the transfer and continuation of innovations and strategies.
