The indicators elaborated for the environmental impact assessment in MODAM in their newest version are mainly based on the work from Claudia (find Claudia on the 'MODAM Team' page). The exact buildup and the technical coefficients used are well documented in her dissertation (Sattler 2008, you can download it on the 'Literature' page). In order to obtain one index value per indicator for each production practice the fuzzy tool aggregates all relevant parameters of one production practice and their assessed effects on the indicators. The fuzzy-tool is embedded in MODAM. The single indicator values can be combined in a cobweb diagram so different cropping practices can easily be compared for their overal environmental goal fulfillment. (click here to see an example)
