Project 05

Warning and intervention systems for health care and disease management

The risks associated with climate change, particularly in urban areas require extensive adaptation measures for the protection of human health.

Sub-project 05 focuses on the development of an information and early warning system including indoor climate conditions. A telemedical early warning and intervention center for high-risk patients with pulmocradial diseases will be established to reduce the health impact of heat waves and air pollution.

The subproject systematizes climatological, epidemiological and socio-demographic information into a heat warning and information system, which is linked exemplarily with a telemedical warning and intervention technology.

This research approach is helping to support the management of climate change related uncertainties and health risks at the individual level.

To promote the acceptance of strategies for climate change adaptation in the health sector, specific training and information modules for target groups in the scientific community and in schools will be developed together with sub-project 03.
